House Espresso
Explored
A 25–30 second pull from freshly dosed, leveled, and tamped grounds. Our house blend delivers notes of dark chocolate and toasted hazelnut with a sweet, lingering finish.
Barista Tip
Always pull fresh — espresso oxidizes quickly. Target 36g in, 72g out for a balanced double shot.
Matcha Latte

Matcha Latte
Explored
Ceremonial grade matcha whisked vigorously with a touch of hot water, then combined with steamed oat milk and house-made vanilla syrup for a smooth, earthy sweetness.
Barista Tip
Whisk for a full 20 seconds before adding milk to prevent clumping. Serve at 140°F — no hotter.
Cold Brew Tonic

Cold Brew Tonic
Explored
Our 24-hour steeped cold brew concentrate poured gently over sparkling tonic water and ice, finished with a lemon twist for a bright, effervescent coffee experience.
Barista Tip
Never stir or shake — the layered presentation is intentional. Pour cold brew slowly down the side of the glass.
Honey Oat Flat White

Honey Oat Flat White
Explored
A double ristretto topped with silky micro-foamed oat milk, finished with a drizzle of local wildflower honey. Rich, velvety, and subtly sweet.
Barista Tip
Texture is everything. Aim for paint-like foam with no visible bubbles. Steam to 140°F and swirl before pouring.

Activity 3 of 4  ·  Branching Scenario
Guest Moment
Read the situation carefully, then choose the best response. Your choice has consequences.
Setting: Mid-morning rush. You have just handed Marcus — a regular guest — his Honey Oat Flat White. He takes a sip, pauses, and turns back toward the counter.
Marcus — Regular Guest
"Hey — this doesn't taste right. The milk is hot and kind of scalded. I come in every day and this isn't how it usually is."
How do you respond?
Marcus — after the remake
"This one is perfect — thank you. That's why I keep coming back."
Excellent — Best Response
Offering an immediate, no-questions-asked remake signals that you value the guest over being right. Acknowledging Marcus by name added a personal touch that reinforced the relationship. This is the Verdant standard.
Marcus
"I guess... but adding ice to a flat white is a bit odd. It's fine."
Partial — Could Be Better
Offering ice isn't wrong, but it shifts the inconvenience back to the guest and changes the drink's texture. A scalded milk drink cannot be fixed with ice. A remake demonstrates that you take quality seriously. Try again.
Marcus
"I know what burned milk tastes like. I'll just grab something from the place next door today."
Incorrect — Guest Trust Lost
Defending the equipment over the guest's experience feels dismissive. Even if the machine is correctly calibrated, the guest's perception is their reality. Debating the point creates conflict and damages loyalty. Try again.
